Dear Gathering Place Family...

 

This weekend (July 25th) is our Service on the Lawn.  We will meet at our Des Moines campus (2038 S 222nd St, Des Moines) This annual time of gathering outside to worship has become a summer staple.  We would love to have you join us for worship, a message and great fellowship together.  It is a wonderful time to be able to reconnect with old friends and also spend some time outdoors.  Bring your own picnic lunch for afterwards. We will also have a wiffle ball game for those that wish to play.  Gathering Place will provide drinks and a frozen treat for dessert.  We will have tables, chairs and sun shades set up.  Please consider joining us for this great time together. 

Interested in being part of our post service times of prayer?  We will have a meeting Wednesday August 11th at 6:00 PM at Gathering Place to discuss what that looks like.  If you are a person that values prayer and knows that God can do the miraculous in people’s lives today we would love to have you consider being a part of our post-service prayer ministry.  We are planning to launch this ministry again beginning in September.  Please feel free to connect with me if you have further questions.  

Interested in getting more involved at Gathering Place?  We have a wide variety of needs currently.  We still need help with hospitality – thank you to the many new additions to the weekly snack list.  We are in need of help with nursery, preschool, and elementary classes as well.  We are hoping to have all three rooms open again once we start the new school year this fall.  Have an idea of a way to connect and serve in another way?   We would love to hear how you would like to be more involved.

Our finances have been short the past two months.  We are not in a panic mode or considering cutting ministries yet, but we have lost people this past year due to moves to new locations, moving on to a new place, or simply have not yet returned.  If Gathering Place is still your church, please consider financially partnering with us.  If you are already giving, we thank you for your on-going contributions.  Our desire is to continue to expand ministries and in the process of doing this it takes finances for us to operate.  Thanks for being with us through this.
