Dear Gathering Place Family...

This weekend we are looking at Daniel 3 and the idea of the presence of God with us even in the fire. Though we finished our series on the presence of God last week, I wanted to add this message as it did not fit in the series well so this week, we will examine the idea of being willing to be set apart for the work of God. The beauty of this is that no matter what fire (or challenge) we face, God is present with us.

The church garage sale for the Mexico mission trip is happening June 3rd – 4th at the Des Moines Campus. We NEED your stuff, as well as your support. There is also still time and space available for those wishing to go to Mexico. Our team is small this year, so we could use you as a person to join us or your financial partnership to help make this happen. Sarah Brattkus is organizing the Garage Sale. Connect with her to arrange a drop off time or to schedule a time to come and help price, sell, set-up and clean-up 206-861-3980. We need household items, clothes, and other items that will sell well at a garage sale.

Our Dessert Auction to help send kids to camp will take place June 5th. This is a great opportunity for you to help fund and support the kids and families of Gathering Place to be able to attend camp. Please consider being a part of the fun and excitement of our auction or simply make a financial donation to enable as many of our students to attend as possible. The auction occurs immediately following service that morning.

We need your participation! As a church we strive to get everybody involved in some way. We have some specific ways we need help currently. We are in need of somebody – or a team of people – willing to mow the lawn along 177th and along 1st. This needs to happen twice a month throughout the summer. If you would be willing to take on this project – whether one time or every time – we need your help.

Are you interested in signing up to provide post service snacks for our congregation? Please let us know as we are currently taking sign-ups through the end of the year. It is no more than once a month and we would love to have your help with this ministry of hospitality. You can sign-up at the Java Dock area on Sunday. Choose a Sunday that works for you and be part of our team that is designed to encourage fellowship and connection.
