Dear Gathering Place Family,
It was wonderful seeing so many of you with us this past weekend. My heart’s desire is to see our church continue to move forward as we recover from what has been a truly devastating pandemic on our nation. Though we have no idea what the future holds, what I do is that God is still in control. He will see us through each set back and every move forward.
We will be wrapping up our series on Evangelism this weekend. My hope is that you have been challenged, inspired, and motivated to share your faith with those around you. We want to passionately share without being hypocritical in our faith. The very idea of evangelism means we need to take an honest look at ourselves and ask if we are truly representing God in all that we say and do.
This Friday night (August 27th) from 6:30-8:00 PM we will have our bingo night. This free event is for all ages and will include not only snacks, but a great time together. My hope is that you will come out and be a part of a time to connect and build relationships with each other while we have fun. There will be snacks and drinks provided. So, grab a friend, co-worker or neighbor and come join us for a great time together.
Our opportunity to serve with Transform Burien is Sunday, September 5th. We need your help to make this possible. From 2:30-5:00 PM we need 7-10 people willing to come and help serve the most vulnerable in our community. If you are willing and available please let me know so that we make sure we have everything covered. If you’re not able to serve but still want to be a part we collect food donations every week in the box in the lobby. Please consider bringing nonperishable foods to help restock the shelves of the food pantry. We are always in need of high protein items (canned chicken, tuna, chili, beef stew, Vienna sausage, etc.).
Men’s breakfast will be September 11th at 9:00 AM. Immediately following men’s breakfast we will be removing a tree, cleaning the back storage area, and doing a general beautification of the property. Please join us for breakfast and then stick around afterwards if you have a few hours to donate to the church that day.
Blessings ~
