This past week we began a series on evangelism. This is a challenge for me because I struggle to tell people they should ”do” more, but at the same time this is not a series about doing more, but it is about being who God created us to be. Within us we should be passionate about sharing Christ if we are passionate about Christ. My desire in this series is to help people be more effective in sharing what God has done in their lives. We are not looking for perfection, but for a growing and vibrant life defined by who they are in Christ.
August 11th at 6 PM we will have an informational meeting about being part of the post service prayer team. If you are a person of prayer and would like to step into this role in order to serve others, please join us for this meeting as we work to reestablish a pattern of praying for one another. If you are not able to be a part of post-service prayer, but still desire an opportunity to pray for people then please consider joining us for pre-service prayer time every Sunday from 9:15-9:45. This time is led by Lanelle Ford and is a great time to prepare your heart for receiving what God has for us as well as seeking for the Holy Spirit to move in our church.
August 27th from 6:30-8 we will have Family Bingo Night. It is our hope that you will consider joining us for this. All of you are invited to this free night of family fun. There will be snacks, drinks, prizes and so much more. Come out with the kids, a friend, a neighbor or by yourself and be a part of this great time together.
September 11th we will have a clean-up of the property in Burien. We will start immediately after the men's breakfast at 10 AM. We had one in the spring, but many people were unable to join us that day. Would you consider joining us for this time together as we clean up the property and the building so we are prepared as we head into fall? Fall typically has the highest number of first-time visitors to a church and our desire is to be prepared to welcome those who are seeking a church to make part of their lives.
Thanks for standing with us through this past season. It has been an incredibly difficult time in our nation and churches have certainly felt the pressure of a world in chaos. We know that God is bigger than any of the issues we face and trust Him to see us through.
Blessings ~
